General surgery focuses on the abdominal organs as well as some skin and breast conditions. Southwestern Medical Center offers a variety of general surgery services in our Short Stay Unit or outpatient Surgery Center.

Our team of skilled surgeons perform a wide range of surgical procedures such as general and advanced laparoscopic procedures, hernia surgery and much more. Our general surgery staff consists of expert anesthesiologists, nurses and technicians dedicated to performing successful operations and promoting comfortable healing and recovery. Services include:

Patients scheduled for procedures are encouraged to discuss any questions or concerns with their physician, surgeon, or nursing staff. Prior to the procedure we also recommend arranging transportation upon discharge.

Please contact our Same-Day Services department and/or your physician if you are scheduled for surgery and develop a fever, persistent cough, rash or cold. Your procedure may need to be cancelled or rescheduled, but it is for your own safety.
